Employment and Training Programme

Mauri Mahi, Mauri Ora is a client centred holistic approach to securing sustainable employment or training opportunities for taitamariki 17-24 years within the Whangarei rohe.
This programme utilises formalised tools, practical activities and genuine helping techniques to empower taitamariki to gain self-knowledge, cultural connection and improve employment capability.
Mauri Mahi, Mauri Ora is underpinned by long-term pastoral care.

Mauri Oho

6 Week Social Connection Programme

Mauri Oho is a motivational support programme for 18-24 year old taitamariki who are receiving a Job Seeker Benefit with Work and Income.
Individualised plans of development include confidence building, team work, cultural connection, physical and mental wellbeing.  Facilitation is in group settings by experienced Kaimahi.
Intakes throughout the year.


Whangārei Council Cadetship Programme

Employment and Training Programme

Whangārei Council Cadetship is an 8 week training and employment programme for 18-24 year old taitamariki in receipt of Job Seeker benefit.

This cadetship is in partnership with Northland Regional Council, Whangarei District Council and Ministry of Social Development.

Upon completion of the training programme graduates are interviewed for 10 month employment as Cadets with Northland Regional Council or Whangarei District Council.
